The Dutch Embassy in the UK hosted – for the 5th year running – the Parliamentary Bike Ride for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Cycling and representatives of the British cycling world for a hearty Dutch breakfast, followed by a ride in the glorious sunshine from the Embassy to the Houses of Parliament.
Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport Jesse Norman, the Chair of the APPG Cycling, Ruth Cadbury MP, CEO of Cycling UK, Paul Tuohy, and our Deputy Ambassador Brechje Schwachöfer spoke about the joys of cycling and the importance of safe cycling infrastructure. Moderator Jeremy Vine entertained guests with stories of some of the perils of cycling in London.
Thanks to Cycling UK, the Bicycle Association of Great Britain, and the companies who kindly supplied a range of fabulous bikes for our guests to try out: Babboe Cargobike, Raleigh Bicycles, Dutch Bike.co.uk, Mobike, ofo, Pedal Me, Velopa and Green Commute.
